We've still a long way to go

Today I had a conversation with my sister, she indicated that her daughter had received an e-mail from someone at church who chastised her for her political preferences and the choices she made when she voted in Tuesday's election. I have often heard from the pulpit, admonitions to be thoughtful and prayerful when voting. I, however, do not think that means everyone will receive the same answers, as what is important to one individual may not have the same importance to another. I think the inspiration is very much connected to the individual's specific concerns and who will best represent those individual concerns. If they match up with someone else's, then perhaps they will recieve the same inspiration. I can't imagine the kind of intolerance that would allow a person to tell another that their opinion was invalid. If I did not agree, I might express my own thoughts, or even say that I couldn't agree with a point of view, but I certainly feel I would have no right to trash another's ideas. It states total arrogance to me that someone should do something so rude! We are, after all, intitled to our own convictions.
